What did Jesus do after His body was put in the Tomb?
He descended into Hell.
Hell is a place for people who chose not to love and serve God. Hell is like stairs. There are many steps down into Hell. The first stair is different. It is called Limbo. Limbo is very close to the Earth. It is a place for good people who died before Jesus did. People like Noah and King David waited for Jesus in Limbo. They had to wait for Jesus to open up Heaven. When Jesus died on the Cross He started to open up Heaven.
On the third day He rose again from the dead.
Jesus died on Good Friday. He rose up three days later, on Easter Sunday. This is called the Resurrection. Jesus’ soul came back to His body. This is why His body didn’t stay in the Tomb. Jesus was alive in body and soul again.
After He rose from the dead Jesus stayed with the Apostles for 40 days. With Jesus’ help the Apostles learned more about God’s Truths. Jesus told them that they had important work to do for Him. Jesus also told the Apostles that the Holy Spirit would come to them soon.
He ascended into Heaven.
At the end of the 40 days, Jesus went up to Heaven. This is called the Ascension. This means that Jesus took His body and soul up to Heaven by His own power.
